LOCAL INDUSTRIES.

The Government offer the following bonuses on articles produced in the colony, i»n condition that notice of intention t« olaiin am one is given not later than Decnmiier 31, 1881, and that the bonus itself is claimed before June 20, 1532. A bonux of £1000 for the firal 125 tuna of sugar manufactured in the colony ; £500 for the production by machinery permanently established ia the colony of the first 10,000 galls of oil f rout linseed grown in the colon \ and £100 for the first "50 tons' of linseed oil cake ; £300 for the first 50 tons of starch manufactured in the colony, which shall be shipped to an English market, and for which a satisfactory certificate shall h«* given by dealers or brokers in England that the starch is of good marketable quality ; £500 per annum for 3 years in succession for the production of 50 tons «>f sulphuric acid each year ; £250 for the first thousand pounds' worth of household earthenware ou proof that it ia of good marketable quality. There is also offered a bonus of 50 percent, on the * a!ue realised for the first thousand pounds' worth of cocoons <>f tha silkworm*' "XX*! produced in the colony, to be paid ou quantities of cot less than £50 nor more than £100 produced by any one pßrtson.
