County Works.— By reference to our County Council report it will be seen that several hundred pounds were voted yesterday for much-needed works, including metalling Avenue and Montoa roads, Foxton, building bridge on Main-street, Foxtes,and doing road work on .Cliflj Taipo, and Penny's hnes, in the-Oroua Riding. Tbe Gkokoias. — Those old favorites, the Georgia Minstrels, will appear at the Foxton Hall tomorrow evening, when a good house is almost certain to greet them. The steamer Bamson. — The above wellknown paddle steamer has been purchased by Captain Harvey, formerly of the Rangatira, and Mr Greenwood, engineer of the Stormbird. We understand that if sufficient inducement is received, she will run constantly in tbe Wellington-Foxton trade.
