— ♦ (Abridged from the Wanganui Herald.) The Board met on Wednesday, Deoember 29. Present— Messrs W. H. Watt (chairman), 1). Coutts, J. Notm.in H. Sa**Bon. J. W. l.aker, Roy. J. Ross, Sir W. Fox. Insc iiavce. — TheCb lirman reported that he had arranged for the insuranre of the school property to the value of £19,785 for 6s per cent in the National Insurance Com pany. - uuant T>rsri-CT.!us.— Copies of instructions to bo supplied to the police with respect to their employment as Truant Inspectors were laid on the table. — The Secwas instruct, d to communicate with Inspector Jame" on the umiter. Jackeyt 'W*. —Letter from Mr Monrad objecting to tho site chosen for the school by the committee, and reiitinsr various reasons wlty tbt> site was not *uilable. — Report from the Secretary, who vi_i*ed "he various sites on Saturday last In his opinion the choice was narrowed down to the sitp on the reserve recommended by th" Committi _ and tho one offered by Mr Sherman. 24 chil dren would attend a school erected on either site, ln the one case the school on the reserve site would draw children from ti.e Karere sclvol, but it was close to the Kaitaueata Block. The children thot would atten I the scho »> if erected on Mr Sherman's land were not now attendirg any school. — Ultimately it was resolved to hold ovrr the matter for a time. It was lesolved that the meetings of householders be held according to the Act on the fourth Monday in January, at 7 o'clock. it was notifi.d that the retirin members were Messrs Watt, ..I'Gretro>, nnd Maker. Mr Sanson suggest, d that au extension of time be granted so os to cover the Anniversary Day. It being pointed out thai tir day in question was not geuerally ob served as a holiday the motion was allowed to lapse. Stoni'Y Ckeek.-- Reiigna'ion cf Mr Malcolm n signing his post on account of the inhabitants being su-h a " queer set." He pointed out thut four teachers only stayed a short timo at tho scliool in question. He also applied to bo removed to Campbelltown. — Resolved that the resignation be accepted. Air Chas. Bowater, cadet at Sandon, was appointed to Waverley t* ubj>*ct to approval of the Committee, to be paid as fourth j'eur nuDil teacher.
