Mr Batty, private secretary to the new Governor, arrived at Auckland ? per Southern Cydss yesterday, and j . iutimates that Sir 'Arthur Gordon may be expected to arrive at Auckland in H. M. S. Danae about the twentieth instant. The Binemoa will proceed to Auckland to meet His Excellency, who may be expected in Wellington about the 25th. Sir Dillon Bell's departure has been delayed slightly. He will leave Melbourne by the Potosi at the end of December. His appointment is for four years* .-.-.-..
