THE WANGANUI CATTLE SHOW
I The Cattle Show held at Wafoganui > on Thursday last was the rdost sue- - cessful ever held there. Maaawatu ' took off a large number of the prizes. Mr M'Lennan's Double Brunswick took first prize in the class for bulls ' over 3 years of age, Firby being highly commended. Mr Larkwdrthy^s Prince Regent took first prize for bulls calved since June 30, 1877, Wf M'Lennau's Dnke of Bainesse took first prize for bulls calved since June ' 80, 1878, Mr Lai-kworthy's Fitewilliam second, and Mr M'Lennau's Earl of Bainesse highly commended. In the cows of any age, Mr M'Lennan's " Countess of Colac was highly commended. In the 3-year-old heifer class, Mr Larkworthy's Lady Kothey. say's Sweetheart took first prize|jj and the little Duchess of Carnarvon toyk first prize amongst the year-old heifers. Mr Larkworthy's prisse for the champion bull was won by bis own beast, Prince Regent. Mr Larkworthy's dog Rex secured second prize in the Gordon Setter class! It"* will therefore be. seen that the Foxton district took a most creditable position at the Show.
