I Mr Pavnell made a speech at Longford yesterday, in the course of which he said the proposed prosecution by Government of the loaders of the Irish league would be useless. News has been ieceived from South America of a terrible disaster in the Argentine Rebubli •. A most severe snow storm, lasting three dayp, fell over an enormous tract of country, and caused the death of 700,000 cattle, 500,000 sheep, and 250,000 horses. No news has come to band of any loss of human life. Paris, October \B. The French Government is continuing to expel the various religious orders from France.
