« Cheistchurch, September IC. The grfin market during the week has been quiet, and sales have not been' numerous, la most of the lines wheat transactions have been few, and at recent rates. There is a slight lull in the market, though prices are in no way affected. First-class milling is quoted at 4s Id to 4s 2d, and fair quality 3a lOd to 4s. Oats— The enquiry for milling samples is a shade easier, in the faco of recent English telegraphic advices. Samples answering to this description find buyers at Is 7ii to la Bd, the latter figure ; however, may be looked upon as the top price at the moment, and is only obtainable for oats of good bright quality. Barley — The market is without alteration, and little business can be reported. Flour millers repot t a good demand at late rates. Grass seed has been selling more freelj, though prices are unaltered. Rye grass, 2a Gd to 2s 7d fur best lots ; inferior ranged from 'la upwards. The season is now getting lute, ' and buyers are less anxious to purchase. The stock market is fully supplied this week, and bidding now very brisk. Sheep — Prime lots of crossbreds realised 2ls 6d ; good .10., 16s 6d; prime merino, 12s Gd to 13s 3d, light weight 10 9 6d. Wu quote mutton at 2fd per lb. No quotations can be given for stores, which aye however in keen enquiry. Cattle. — Good beef cattle were in extra large supply. Prime bul'ocks sold up to £13 17s 6d ; medium ditto, from £9 to £10 10s. We quote be t beef at 23s perlOOlbs; stores sold freely; yearlings, leached £1 ; two*} ear-olds, £3 10s to £5 os ; and three-year olds, up to £6 lOj. Pigs sold at a price ranging to £'3 10s.
