CORRESPONDENCE.

-# [We are not responsible fur the opinion! of our correspondents.] AN ENQUIRY. TO TOM EDITOB OP TUB H ANA WATT HBBAI.D • But, — Having seen in differen fgjsaes of your paper articles advising all qualified persons to get ,thei aames enrolled on the List ofELc tors, I %m encouraged to ask yoi , kindly" to explain if possible the fol \ lowing;— Abontt.the 27th or 28th day q March last I forwarded by post 1! * forms of application from settlers, n>; own being among the number. should feel obliged if you would inform us whether it would be advisable to send in fresh notices. I also observe in this " Revised Roll " the names of many people who have parted with their qualifications and left the country or the district, some of them years ago. I am, &c, Settler. Carnarvon, Sept. 3, 1880. [The explanation will probably be that the forms filled up by our correspondent and those he refers to were under the qualifications abolished by the new Act. He should fill up the names on one of the new forms, when we have 'no doubt tlieyiwbijld be dfcity registered. All the names r sent to the Registrar from our office have been duly enrolled. We may also remark that names are constantly being added to the roll. Attached to the printed roll lying at the Foxton Post Office there are 173 names' written; These will of course be embodied in the main roll at the next printing. Our correspondent should inspect the supplementary roll, which can be seen free of charge. As to names being enrolled wrongly, that is quite probable. Still, we have no doubt the Registration ( 'nicer would be glad to receive information from "Settler" as to the names of persons who are disqualified. — Ed. M. Herald.]
