Messrs Beckett, Hammond, & .Dick report: At our monthly Bale of grain and general farm produce held last Saturday, there was a good attendance of buyers, prices ruling quite 10 per cent better than j last month's quotations with the exception of dairy produce,which was quite neglected. I Grain— There is still an active demand for prime samples of milling wheat, but there is little offering. We sold two parcels at 4a 9d and 4s lOd respectively ; chick wheat, 14s 6d per bag. Oata — Thera is a marked improvement in prices. We quote prime milling at '2a and tretclass feed, Is 8d to U 9d ; inferior, do., Is sd. Barley—No transactions. Grass seed — Rye 4s 6d ; cocksfoot, no inquiry ; timothy, >ye quitted half a ton of local seed, well cleaned, at 5d per lb. Sheepskins — Bidding was very spirited, and very high figure- were obtained. Farmers' skins, -l^d to 7£d per lb. Butchers', last month's, 7|d per lb. Butter was very dull of sale, large quantities offering. We sold a few kegs, favourite brands, at 7d. Bacon and hams, 6d per lb. Onions, Id to l£d per lb. Cheese — We quitted about three hundred weight at 8d per lb. Potatoes— £3 10s per .ton. J Bran — £2 Ills per ton. Bulls, September 4. Messrs Stevens & Gorton report : — There was a good attendance at our sale at Waitatapia on the 3rd mat. The following prices were re ilised : — Two-year-old heifers, £4 5s to £4 10s ; milch cows, £4 10s to J69 9s; fat wethew, 14s 6i; draft horses, ill 3 da to £35; draft colts and fillies, £3 10s to £19; hacks, etc., £3 to £18. Farming implements at low prioes. Damaged wheat, 8s 6d to 10s Cd per sack.— Bangitikei Advocate.
