■ . ♦ MR P. R. JACKSOM'S REPORT. Wakoantji, Augnst 25 The yards at Haweia on Friday were well filled with useful cattle ; (he bidding was brisk throughout, and all the pens were Bold at the auction. At the yards today the attendance wa3 good, and prices were in favour of the vendors for store cattle. Beef dull, but a good demand for sheep. The yards were well filled, and a good nalu was effected. Cattle.— At Hawera, 360 head were penned — Bullocks, £6 10s ; cows, £i 5s to £6 2a 6d ; steera, £4 ss ; heifers, £3 10s ; yearlings, £2 5a to £2 153. At St Hillstreet, 219 head catae forward — Fat cows, £6 5s to £7 ; well-grown 3-year-old steers, £6 7s 6d to £7 ; steers, £3 17» 6d ; cows, £3 10s to £5 ; yearlings, £2 to £2 Ids. Shbep.— s2l were penned — Fat wethers,' 12a 9d to 14s 6d : ewes, Us to lls 9d ; store ewes, 8s 9d to 9s 6d. PiGß.— Young porkers, 129 ; larger animals, up to 31 8. Hobsbs.— Hacks, £5 to £10 ; screws, 20b to 30a. Land.— l placed during the week Dr. Earle'B farm at Maxwell, at £11 per acre; and 359 acres of land near Waitotara, , brought £5 10s at auction to-day. Exports. — 143 cabtle, 140S sheep, and 105 pigs.
