Tea— The Benarty has arrived at Sjdney, from Fooohow, and we understand she brings the bulk of the new season's shipment for this port, which is intended to come by steamer. It will, doubtless, come forward by the Albion, timed to leave Sydney on the 19<h instant. Stocks of last year's, especially boxes, are now almost cleared oat. Cement. &t the moment is wanted, and but little id obtainable from first Lands, who are selling in small lota at 228, duty paid. We, however, believe that in a short time the supply will be in exceed of the demand, — The market keeps bare, and the high rates which have ruled for somj timo past are still asked — namely, £5 10s and £6 for fine and coarse respectively. There are, however, conaiderable parcels afloat, and these figures cannot be eznected to remain f<>r any lengthened period. Sugars. —Prices have fallen £1 per ton for Melbourne and Sydney whites. Retail quotations are now: IW, £45; IC, £41; No. 3, £37. Galvanised iron has declined in' value lately to the extent of i' 2 10s to £&: attributable to cheap purchases in Melbourne and Sydney, and the marked fall in the English market. Candles — Supplies are light, Prices are worth ldjfj,and De Roubaix,9£d. Henessy's brumly — Th 3 stock of case is very small, and is being dealt with at from 39s to 39s 6d : bulk has declined in value somewhat, and parcels are obtainable at 16s 6d. Ale aud stout. — The demand for thc'Bv con tinues unusually limited, and shipments to arrive being heavy, there is every probibility tha f the market will Hhortly bo heavily overstocked. Wire nails are in short supply, but no transactions in parcels afloat have been reported, buyers electing to await arrival, holding off in the hope of some concession in prices by that time. Oilmen's 9tores are, on the whole, in plentiful supply, without any alteration in values. A few articles such as cornflour and Van Houten's cocoa are scarce. Colonial Produce — Flour — The market continues steady at last quotations, £11 103 per ton for bakers' parcels in sacks, though, judging from Southern news, a further rise may be looked for at any time. Bacon and hums are quoted at 8d to 9d ; cheesn, 64 to s}d, chickwheat, 2b 3d to s6d ; chuff £5 10d ; peas, 3s to 3* 3d. Onions, £5, and all are in excess of requirements. Salt Butter — A movement for the better is noticeable, prime qualiiy being worth as much as 9J to lOd, but the stocks in hand are, however, at the moment more than the warrants. Out* are in good supply, and are worth fr im 2s to 2s 3d ; the latter for best samples. Potatoes have benn sellinur at £2 15a per ton ; the market, however, is not overstocked, and they may therefore be expected shortly to cotnmai d a higher figure. Maize is rather eas er, and best samples of Poverty Bay are selling at 3s 3d ; Newcastle, 3s — N.Z. Times. Haweba, Friday. Mr Freeman K. Jackson reports:— At the yards today 361 head were yarded. The attendance was good, and capital prices were realised.
