Native Land Dealings. — From Gisborne we learn that for somo time past a feeling has been gaining ground among the natives of <h\t district as to the wisdom or otherwise of having conveyed a number of valuable blocks bf~4and in trust to their solicitor and one or two natives with uncontrolled power. The complaint is that the lands in question have no sooner been conveyed than, wherever practicable, they have been forthwith mortgaged to Europeans. The old chief Ihaka Ngarangione, who represents a large section of the natives in Poverty Bay distriot, has notified in the Herald that he absolutely revokes all power conferred by bim upon W. L. Rees and another, as trustees fov him in a nnm ber of blocks in tu»t distriot.
