CORRESPONDENCE.

Sir— Could you or, any of your subscribers kindly inform me who is the Secretary or Trenaurer of the Foxt<w Athenseura ? If it is an institution su >ported by the public of the district ? And if so, who are the gentlemen responsible for goods supplied P My reasons, for asking are simply tli>>t I supplied *he institute with periodicals from July, 1877, to October IS7B, amounting to £13 Is, and I cannot now find any responsible party. I think, in justice to them selves, the public ought to fix the responsibility on some one. Any person supplying goods to public bodies of this kind. I think, is justified .in concluding that the public have elected some responsible party as Secretary of the same. I shall feel much obliged if you can give me any information oh the subject. I am, &c , W. G. Jacksox. Wellington, 2nd August. [We know nothing of the matter, but hope for the credit of the towu some effort will be made to pay Mr Jackson. — Ed. 11. Herald 1 t
