FOXTON CEMETERY.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE MANAWATU HERALD Sir, — I beg to inform you and your readers that there were several head of cattle in the Cemetery yesterday, trampling the graves and eating the shrubs and flowers planted there by loving hands. The cattle seem to encamp round that sacivd spot, and every' sand hill is torn down. The drains in and around Foxton are in the course of being rendered useless. All this arises, not only from the consequences of last flood, but as the. result of the regular habit of some people who run all the stock they can at large. As one who has relatives and friends iv that Cemetery, I ask your assistance in stopping the nuisance. I am, &c, Eye Witness. Foxton, July 15, 1880. [We. -thank our correspondent for bringing this matter forward, and hope the Cemetery Trustees will at once take steps to have the fences, gates, &c, put in good order. — Ed. M. Herald.]
