The steamer Jane Douglas left Wellington at 5.15 p.m. on Wednesday, and reached Kapiti at 1 a.m., yesterday ; anchored till 7.3U a.im, when a fresh start was made, arriving at Fozton at noon ; experienced fine weather throaghout. The whooner Janet, laden with timber, is still anchored at the heads, waiting for a • favorable slant of wind to cross the bar.
