' TO THE RATEPAYERS. . \ * ri ENTLEMEN— I thank you very IJT kindly, and more especially those who have returned me on more than one occasion, when standing as a candidate for the Local Board, for the confidence you have at all times shown in me. For several reasons which need not be referred to in this notice, except one, viz., the result of the recent election in the return of a gentleman with whom I am sure I could not work for the benefit of the ratepayers, — I have resigned. But I am happy to say that I have left tho Board in a much healthier state than I found it — both financially and as regards the execution of much needed works— aud though ceasing to be a Commissioner, I will continue to do my best to promote the welfare and progress of the township.
