Agency Co. have received the following .produce telegram, dated London, 21st April : — Wool — The aalea opened with spirit on the 20th instant at an advance of Id to l^d on last safe priqes-' The' opening oatalogua contained 8,500 bales. The sales comprise about 380,000 bales. 30,000. bales hare been sent to the manufacturing districts direct. Competition by both Home nml foreign buyers is active, but trade in the manufacturing districts is not so good. The Continental markets are lightly stocked. The following have advanced since clo.se of last sales— Greasy, Id per lb ; clothing, washed, Id ; combing, washed, 3d i scoured. Id to ijd ; crossbred superior greasy, and superior combing washed v -}d to Id. Lambs, market unchanged. The sules will close on June 12tb, and the next series. will commence on August 17tb. Tallow is doll of sale. Best mutton is quoted at 36s 6d, and beef 32s per owt. Wheat— Market flat. Adelaide is worth 545, and New Zealand 52s per 4961b5. The Price Current, of the 24th, has the following :-rln exports *here is little doing, the bulk*£of the season's produce having now been shipped. There is now no vessel on the berth for London. The favourable report just received by telegram of the opening of the wool sales is extremaly satisfactory to our exporters, as there will no doubt be good deal of New Zealand wool ia the secies of. sales just commenced. , In Imports, a more healthy tone prevails. Stock* generally (with exception of- olothing). a* B light; several things boing indeed very bare. There is not consequently that eagerness on- the part of sellers to push DiisinetH which formerly existed, and more satisfactory prices, are obtainable. Thero has been a fair average trade done Since our last report.
