GRAIN AND PRODUCE.

C'HnisTcumtcjr, March 27. A decidedly earner feeling is noticeable in the grain markut. Wheat buyers nro in some doubt as to wh^n they will gut their purchases away, ns at the moment tonmtga is very scarce. It is generally expected that next week will see ulmost every vesnel that is loading wheat for Loudou full, and although several ships are due from foreign and coastal ports, thin will not prevent the wheat from being discharged into store, nnd this will in, reuse the f .o.b. coat. It in, however, to be hoped that some of the yes oels now due may put in i.n early appearance. Good sound milling wheat is nominally quoted at 4s f.o.b. to. the grower, bnt it is doubtful if any large parcels could be placed at the figure. Private telegrams from London hold out little inducement to operate freely at present rates. Flour is in moderate trade de'uani at £10 fix* country and ill for town brands f.o.b. There seems to be but little speculation in this article. Oats are without noticeable change, and several largo lines of heavj milling are reported to have been sold at "la 6d for delivery in Ohristi hurch. There is a small enquiry for the Tartarian variety for seed purpose?, and these have been selling 1 at same price as milling. Barley has not been so- eagerly looked after, as export orders are reported to have beeu executed, and thus left maltsters the market to themselves. For really choice samples a full prioe is given, but for good average quality the value is 3s (Jd. Potatoes are not quite ready for shipment, and we have not heard of any sales of importance Dairy produce is quiet, at 7d for butter, and 4£d for cheese. — Weekly Press.
