"VTOTICE is hereby given that afc -i-N a sitting of the Assessment Court for >He Monawutu Highways Board, held at Palmerston North on Wednesday, the 10th day of Maroh, 1880, it was shown to the said Court that notices of valuation had not been given as required by section 12 of the paid Act. Ifc was therefore ruled by the said Court that the re--1 quiiements of the Rating Act. 1876, , had not been complied: with in preparing the said list, and the Judge of the Court appointed James Linton, Esq., of Palmerston North, to make and prepare Valuation Lists for the several Wards within the Wanswatu Highways District, and that such lists be handed to the Clerk of the Highways Board by Saturday, the 13 th March, 1880, to remain at his office until Saturday, the 27th of Maich aforesaid, after which the said lists are to be left open for public inspection until Friday, the 9th day of April, 1880, at the undermentioned places, viz : — Nos. 1 and 2 Wards, at Mr Beaven's store, Sandon No. 3 Ward, at the County Council office, Foxtcn Nos. 4, 5, and 6 Wards, at the Manawatu Highways Office, Palmerston No. 7 Ward, at Mr Caldwell's store, Cheltenham And that all objections thereto shall he delivered at the Court House at Palmerston, and a copy of the same at the office of the M anawatu Highwj&ys Board on or; before Tuesday, the 18th day of April, 1880. And it is further notified that a sitting of the Assessment Court will be held at the Court Houso, Palmer ston, on Wednesday, the 14th day of April, 1880. The lowest or any tender c. ill not necessarily be accepted. N.B. — Parties tendering will be required to prospect for and find a supply of gravel as near the work as possible ; and each tenderer must state the least number of teams he intends to employ on the work ; not less than ten teams, however, shall be employed on any one contract. .
