(from our own correspondent.) Wellington, Thursday, 7 p.m. At the annual meeting of the Wellington Land and Building Company this day, the balance sheet shewed £1728 10s lid to the credit of tbe profit and loss account. The report stated the .business during the year had been much interfered with by the prevailing depression. The retiring direotors — Messrs Dransfield and Nathan, were re-elected. It is understood the Native Commissioners have sent in an interim report, but its exact nature is not yet known. It is stated the Government intend giving immediate effeot to it, as a guarantee of good faith to the natives. The Civil Service Commission still continues to examine heads of departments, and leaves forinvercargill on Monday.
