The next sales will commence on I7*h instant. Up to date date 130.000 bales have arrived. Tallow.— Market quiet. Stocks of all sorts are 18,01)0 casks Mutton is quoted at 38s 6d, and beef 35s 6,1 per cwt. Wheat . — Market quiet. Adelaide is worth 584, and New Zealand 55s per49olbs. Leathsi* — Market easier. Best sides, Is o|d per lb.
(by telegraph.) Chbistchukch, Thursday. The grain market during the week has presented a more busy anpeot thnn usual. The fixing of the r*to of freight by the Shipfi..g Company at 50a had had something to do with this. Wheat, in small lots for immediate delivery, is quoted at 4s. There still exists a considerable hesitancy among buyer?, as many of the growers are firm in their determination of shipping direct to England rather than accept the pries which some of the buyers speak of. A few parcels of oats have cs yet come to hand. Prices arc unaltered. There was a Urge supply of beef at tin market this week, and prices opened briskly at 20s to 225, but afterwards fell inexplicably to 18s. Mutton, good, 2d per lb, medium, 1-gd.
