On seeing the statement in your paper, I felt called upon to 8W Ihakaia, and he attended before Mr Ward, 8.M., and Mr Baker, Clerk of tb,e Ci)Urr, and the matter at k issue was explained by Mr Baker to Ibakara, whp .totally denied that I had ever given him any cause of complaint. I feel called upon to make this statement to justify myself* I ams &c, : ; 'J'hos. Bowe. Mr, Baker hag authorised me to make use of his name in this matter.
