■ ♦ Chbistchcrch, Saturday. Since our last report the weather has been all that could be desired by farmers for ripening the crops. Reaping early oats and barley is now being proceeded with rapidly, and in some distriots the threshing machines are busily at work. The railway will shortly be busily employed, and we are informed very complete arrangements have been made in anticipation of tbe large quantity of produce which must pass over it this season. We have not heard of any sales- 6f wheat having been made, although it is reported farmers have been offering at 4a for delivery forward. Flour is running low, and millers will be able to clear out their stook at £12 10s to £13. Oats are coming into the market, and numerous sales are reported a.t Is 4d to U 6d, the latter figure being obtainable for heavy milling only. One parcel of low feeding quality is said to have changed hands at Is 3d. Barley is coming into more notice, and the price is settling down to quotable rates. A parcel of rather poor quality is reported to have been sold at 2s lUd. Several sales of ordinary to fair quality have been made at 3s to 3s 3d, and for finest malting samples 3s 6d has been paid. The potato crop is looking well, and deliveries for export may be looked for during the latter end of March. Dairy produce is offering freely without leading to any business. Some trifling sales of butter and obeese are noted at 6d, and 4Jd to 6d respectively. Hams and bacon are unchanged. — Press.
