CiiBiHTCHUROn, Saturday. With the exception of Tuesday and Wednesday, the weather during the week has been seasonable, and favorablo for ripening grain. Some damage has been done by the rain on the days named, but not of a very serious nature. Early barley will probably have fared worst, by being discolored. -We have not heard of any sales of old wheat for milling purposes, but a few lots of fowls' wheat are reported to have been sold at 3s lOd to 4s 2d. New wheat has been on offer at 43 for forward delivery, , but buyers are not anxious to operate until deliveries can be made, or nt least till the grain has been secured. The probable rate of freight is causing some speculation, as offers from South Australia are tempting. The An tares has accepted an offer to load at Wollaroo, and it is reported negotiations are pending for other vessels. Flour is in the niost retail demand, as no one cares to get into stock at this season. Quotations range from £12 to £13. Oats are offering very freely, at slightly higher rates ; buyers, however, do not evince any desire to operate freely, believ- . ing that the enhanced value in Melbourne is ..only temporary. We quote old at Is 7d to Is lOd, and new, for future delivery, at Is 6d. Some speculation exists as to the possibility of sending a portion of our surplus to the English market, but we fear the latest Engliah quotations of 23s to 25s per 3201bs are not such as will induce any shipment in that direction. A few sales of barley are reported at 3s 6d, but until deliveries commence prices can hardly' be considered more than nominal. Grass seed has been very freely offered, and sales arc reported At 2s to 2s 9d, according to quality and condition. It is the general opinion that 2s 6d will be about the averago value of this seed. In batter and cheese the most trifling business is doing, there being no desire to go into stock on the part of exporters. The former ia quoted ut Gd to 6M, and the latter >t 4id to fid for now. Bams and bacon are without change.
