FOXTON REGATTA. FT HE ANNUAL REGATTA will take place at FOXTON on THURSDAY, JANUARY 22, (Anniversary Day). Programme. 1. Sailing Race.— Open to all boats without centre boards. Distance, twice round tho course. First prize, £7 ; second prize, £2. 2. Boys' pair oared Race, for ordinary river boats. For boys under 16 years of age. First prize, £1 10a; second prize, 10s. 3. Four-oared inrigged Race; three miles. First prize, £15 ; second prize. £2 10s. 4. Pair-oared inrigged Race— open to all boats with or without coxwains. First prize, £3 • second prize, £l. 5. Canoe Kace. — No restriction as to canoes or number of crew. Paddles only. Distance, once round the course. First prize, £l 10s. 6. Four-oaied Race, for ships' gigs. Distance, two miles. First prize, £7 ; second prize, £2. 7. Scullers' Race. — For open boats only. First prize, £3 ; second prize, £1. 8. Four-oared inrigged Race. Distance, three miles. First prize, £5 ; second prize, £2 10s. SWIMMING MATCH — Opposite the wharf. First prize,£2 j second, 15s WALKING the GREASY POLE suspended from the wharf— Prize, £1 Competitors for Greasy Pole and Swimming Event3 to be properly attired RULES. 1. All entries (except for canoe race) to be accompanied by entrance fee, giving name of boat and distinguishing fla«, and forwarded to the Secretary at the Post Office not later than noon on Wednesday, 21st January. 2. No prize will be given unless boats start ; no second prize unless three start. 3. The stewards shall have power to refuse any boat permission to start if not of the class intended in the programme, notwithstanding its having been entered.
