Bell, and Tawhai, M.H.K., to investigate native affairs on West Coast. The constitution of the Commission meets with general approval. The Chronicle takes exception to Fox. >. Judge Johnston and the SolicitorGeneral have beea constituted Commissioners to consolidate the statutes of New Zealand. - The Primitive Methodist District Meeting at Christchurch has terminated. The Rev?. P. W, Jones and J. H. Luke are stationed at Manawatu for the ensuing year. The Horticultural Show to-day turned out a grand success. Jt was indeed the^ finest show of the kind ever heki in Wellington. x^&her Minister of Public Works has returned to town to-day by the ss. Taiaroa.
