(BELTER 8 • TELEGRAMB.) London, January 12. Considerable agitation prevails in Ireland, owing to the continued ejectment of tenants. Several serious riots occurred on Friday and Saturday, resulting in conflicts between the police and the mobs. No fatalities on either side are reported. Diving for bodies at the Tay disaster continues. Sweeping changes are being made in the French. War Department. Only staunch Republican generals are kept in command. Similar changes are said to be imminent in other departments. There will be no general amnesty, but separate pardons will be granted to a number of the remaining Com. inunists. The reoent comments in the German Press on French politics have caused much latent irritation in France. London, January 12. A company is now being formed ab Berlin with a capital of 8,000,000 marks (£400,000) to succeed the Godeffroy firm in the Samuan trade.
