Chbistohurch, Friday. The weather during the past few days has changed in a mannar most agreeable to farmers, and We trust that the present very seasonable warmth may continue. Prospects generally are very good, and with dry warm weather it is but reasonable to expect, an excellent yield of all cereals. Transactions have been confined to the usual retail character of this season of the year. A few small parcels of wheat have changed hands at 4s 9d to ss, millers being the purohaserd in nearly every instance. Fowls' wheat is inquired for, and is not obtainable. A fair trade in flour is reported at £13 f.o b Oats are exceedingly dull, and every day they appear to get worse. The Deutschland is loading a cargo for Peru, and the Eishon 4000 eaoks for Adelaide. These shipments should ease stocks, but in thsface ot present prospects, prices will not be affected thereby. Traders offer Is 8d to Is lOd for feed samples, and 2s for milling. Barley is purely nominal, there being no stooks. Butter comes forward freely, and is offering •t 7d, but buyers decline to operate at this figure. Good old cheese is in fair request at Sid to 6d. New is offering, but is not fit for shipment. Cnrers report a good business in hams for Christmas orders at late rates. — Canterbury Press, Dec 13.
