The steamer Huia, Captain Wills, arrived in port early «n Friday morning, bringing a full cargo' and a larg9 number of passengers. Discharged and loaded a large drgo same day, and left again at 6 o'clock Bamo evening for Wellington. The Stormbird arrived from Wellington on Sunday. She leaves to-day. • The steamer O*prey left Otaki at 9.15 a.m. on Sunday, and reached Foxton at 5 p.m,-; experienced strong N.N.E. winds, accompanied by, heavy rain and smooth sea throughout the passage. Mr Morgan Carkeek kindly piloted the steamer out of the Otaki River, there being a good depth of water on the bar. The topsail-schooner Jane Anderson,, which left here for Dunedin on November 26, arrived in the river yesterday morning from that port. She will load up with a cargo of sleepers for the same place.
