Geoffrey Smith, F. Flower, J. Flower, A. Cook, E Uoombo, are commended for their free hand drawing. In the above list, the names are not given according to merit. It may also be mentioned, tnat in the cases where scholars failed to pass in the Standard, by which they were scheduled, Mr Foulis has dropped them into tho next lowest standard, by which they will be enabled to enter next year for two Standards higher ; for instance a child failing to pass this year the third standard will be -firopped into the second, so that next year ne or she. will be able to enter for both third and fourth ; whereas had a failure oeen recorded in the third standard the pupil could next year have entered only for tie third.
