Four policemen from Wagga Wagga were d«spatched in pursuit, aud encountered the bushrangers. The police lost their horses, and were compelled to retreat, but nobody was wounded. The Clarendon mail was also stuck up. A strong body of polica have gone in pursuit. Later. A telegram from Gundagai to-night states that a desperate encounter took plaeo between the police and bushrangers. Two of the latter were shot dead, and one was wounded. Two * of the bushrangers surrendered, and one escaped.- One of the constables was seriously wounded in the affray. Tuesday. The Natabadgery Bushrangers bailed up over thirty persons.
