Grey, Swanson, and Reader "Wood were absent. Hutchison sent an excuse. -Ballance. in his speech, referred to his quarrel with Grey, saying he would let bye-go Des be bye-gones, and would work amicably with Sir G. Grey for the success of the Liberal pai*ty. The Opposition consider if they obtain Allwright's support, they will have a majority of two, and if Government can fill up the spare portfolio from the Opposition ranks, parties will be equal The Opposition consider they will find no difficulty in forcing on the Want of Confidence debate, 6ven should the at-> tempt be opposed by the Govern ment. Ministerialists, on the other hand, express utmost confidence in retaining power, though very reticent.
