FOXT ON SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

A meoting of the Foxton local School .."oumiittee was held at the Ath_n_3uui on Tuesday afternoon lusfc. Present— Messrs Gray (chairman), Stewart, Whyte, Liddell, and Rockstrow. MINUTEB. Ihe minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmect; ' ; [ COERESPONDENOB. Some correspondence between the Committee uud the Board relative to the position of Miss M'Phee, was read. A letter was also read from the Hoard iineference to'the appoiutment # of a pupil teacher. * DIVISION OF SCHOOL. The question of the separation of the boys fiom the girls was then discussed, aud tbe following r .solutions, dealing with the matter, were carried 4*./ Proposed by .Mr \\h yte . and tf conded by Mr Stewart-" That in tlieT' opinion of the Commit cc, the girls' bhould be separated from tlie boys in the Foxton school, aud placed under a school mistress, and that the Education Board be requested to give their sanction to this arrangement taking efface as soon as possible." Proposed by Mr Stewart, seconded by M* Whyte- " That the Chairman

be requested to send a copy of Ihi -.resolution to 'Mr Hulke, as requester; by him." by Mr Liddell. BP-Otidec by DK ( j.ockstrow-"That the Com mittee accept the services of the tnah pupil teachers mentioned by Mi Fouiis, as the Committee h-.ve decidec ifc is .advisable to separate the boy and girls in the school." Proposed by Mr Stewart, secondec by Mr Whyte--" That in view of th< separation of the boys and girls in tht Foxton school, the Committee will b< pleased, if the Board see proper, tt appoint the present Assistant-Mistresj to take charge of the girls' departm eni as mistress," ACCOUNTS. Several small accounts, amoun tin*; to £5 ls 6d, were passed for payment MISCELLANEOUS. The Chairman was authorised t< make arrangements for obtaining twc truck loads of gravel ; also to report a' nexfc meeting the cost of the alteratior which would be necessary to tin school building.
