ACCIDENT TO THE MASTERTON COACH.

» COACH AND MAILS LOST. We learn that on Saturday last an accident occurred to the PalmerstonMasterton coach, by which both the mails and coach were lost. It appears that there was on the coach the driver and one passenger. On reaching the Mangatainoko Stream, it was found a heavy fresh was running, but the coach was safely femed over. After reaching the Woodville side, however, whilst the fenynian was arranging the ropes, the punt swung round, and being caught by a strong cuiTent canted over, upsetting the coach and horses. The king-bolt broke, and the horses escaped, but both the coach and mails were washed dp'Wn stream. The mail would comprise not only that for these districts, < but also the Napier portion. Both the passenger and driver escaped.
