The yards at Waverlcy and S>t Hill Street were well fille:l with stock for tho sales, and bidding was brisker than it has been for some timo past, every lot finding pur chasers at late values. Beef is getting scarce, but no improvement in prices. The St Kilda lauded a trial cargo in Dunedinon Saturday, the salo of which is anxiously looked for Should the prices be satisfactory, I trust another market will be found for our surplus beef. Caitle. — At Waver Joy, 232 head were yarded. Fat bullocks, £8 15s ; cows and oalves, £5 7•> 61; heifers, £1 ; 18 months old, £3 7s 3.1 ; yeartings, £2 7s (>J ; 2 yofir old steers, £U ss. At the St, Hill Street Yards, 139 came forward. Fat cows, £7 'Jd lo MS; bullock*, £7 10s to £8os; cows and calves, £5 los; cows, £4i los; 18 months old stuers, £± 4s; calves and yearlings, £1 15s to £1 17s 6d. Sheei\— At St Hill Street, 1133 wore penned. Best wether.', lla to 11s 3d, medium, 7* (id to 7s 9d ; store wethers, 5s 3d to os tfd ; ewes, 4s Od to 5s 3d. Pigs.— Stores, 9s 3d to 15s 6d; bacon pigs, 475. Oats. — 2s 9d to 3s per bushel, according to quality. Hobses. — Dull at sale, and at low values. Exports. — 61 head cattle, 364 sheep, and 143 pigs.
