Craig reports having left Wellington on.last Monday .week, the 30th uh., and made a good run up, arriving off the bar the following day, at .7 p.m..; stood off for the night, and next morning (Wednesday, July 2) r&n up to the entrance, but as a steamer refused to tow the schooner in, had to stand off again, owing to a heavy S.W. gale, during which she was hove-to for 30 hours ; made Stephens' Island, and anchored off there until the gale abated; on Saturday evening last heaved anchor, and made across the. Straits for Kapiti; anchored there on Monday evening ; started again on Wednesday morning at 5.30, and arrived off the bar 6 hours later, crossing at; noon, and arriving as above. A Btart was yesterday made at discharging the cargo, and in two or three days the Colleen Bawn will show a clean hold. The Jane Douglas is advertised to leave Wellington this eveningfor this port.
