FOXTON HARBOR BOARD.
A meeting of the Board was liejd •jti Tuesday last, July 8, at 1 1 a.m . Present — Messrs Gray (cb«ir?fcin), rhynne, Cook, Lo>. * and Crowther. The minutes of the nieet<. ing were read and cont cd. . Letter read from the nairmau of khe Foxton Local Boa , dated July 5, informing the Board of the appointment of Mr Russell as a member having been made on May 21. Received. A tender was received from the owners of the p.s. Osprey, offering to remove 6 snags in the river between Blackman's Point and opposite Captain Robinson's residence, for the^um of £39 10s. After some discussion it was resolved, upon the motion of Mr Thynne, seconded Iby Mr Cook, to accept a portion of the tender, viz., for removing the one opposite Cap* tain Robinson's residence, and those at Blackman's Point ; that near, the--ferry, in tha centre of the river, is fo r be buoyed, if it is found Impossible to', remove it. The whole amount to be paid fot the work is £20 los, r ':' The following resolutions were r passed : — " Proposed by Mr Loudou; > seconded by Mr Crowther, " That the Chairman aad Messrs ' ,Thynue and. Cook remain in office ag a ; Cbi^tnit\Jeß' to see the contract i& cavriaii out/' and to make fresh arrangements 1 for the, . removal of the snag at or ' near 'the' 1 mouth of the river.". Carried. The Board then adjourned to July 28th.
