BY TELEGRAPH. Chbietchurch, July 3. The past week has been a most uneventful one in the grain market. Owing to the continuous rain and suspension of the railway traffic few farmers have reached town. Locally there is no change to report. Two or three sales have taken place at last quotations of 3s 5d to 3s 7d, according to quality ; there is a good demand for inferior wheat for fowls' feed, but the supply is limited. Flour is without alteration, but millers report a bettpr demnnd. No alteration in oats; for town consumption there is a fair demand, but for export there is absolutely no bnsiness. Quotations are most varied, and it is impossible to give one that would be any guide. The loss of the BL. with a cargo of California n barley, has caused a move in the market ; prices are very unsettled ; holders ask from 5s Sd to 58 for good samples. Oatmeal has been re. duced J6l per ton from the Ist. The weather has put a stop to deliveries of potatoes j sellers unchanged at £3 Ida to £4 ss ; buyers, JE3 to £3 103, at country stations. Butter, 9d to lOd. Cheese, several parcels have changed hands at 5d to sgd. Curers report a fair demand for hams and bacon ; hams, bare, lOd ; cloth lOid ; bacon, bare, 7£d j cloth, Bd. Hams and bacon (equal; 8d; oloth, B£d. Wellington, Friday. In colonial produce but little trade has been done dm ing the past week, and prices remain comparatively stationary. Keg butter shows indications of improvement, and quotations for prime cure are ll^d to Is. Cheese dull, at 7d to 7|d. Bacon and hams light stocks, and new cure quoted at 7 Ad to BJd per lb. Flour— Beßt brands of Canterbury and Oamaru flour are quoted at .£lO to £10 10s per ton and show signs of improved rate. Bran is in full supply at 9d to lOd per bushel ; pollard £6 10s per ton ; oatmeal, 4MB to £20 per ton ; maize, 4s 3d per bushel, stocks low; oats in moderate demand, at 2s lOd to 3s per bushel ; potatoes, 90s to 100s per ton, fair stocks. This market is just now fully stocked with green fruits, at the following quotations : — Oranges, 7s per case ; lemons, 14s ; apples, 12s ; pine apples, 7s per dozon. Sydney, July 4. Hennessy's case brandy, 32s to 32s 6d ; New Zealand wheat, 4s 3d ; oats, 2s 6d. No change in other lines.
