The following telegrams from .Major Brown, Civil Commissioner, to the Premier, show that the settlers of JI a wera have acted in a plucky; way, and turned the trespassers off: — Hawera, Juno 22. A native named Kamo-Kamo demanded their release on Saturday. Being refused by the poundkeepor and commanding officer, ho threatened to tomahawk ihe poundkeepor, and break down the pound. During a fracas which occurred in the evening, Kamo-Kamo was put in the mud by some Arawa members of the constabulary whom he insulted. Ho has since paid the pound foes and released the bullocks.
