FOXTON LOCAL BOARD.

♦ Saturday, June 14. The Board met at 3 p.m. Present — Messrs Orowther (chairman), Ooley, and Cook. The minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed. The following correspondence was read : — From E. Brown, offering to deepen and clear out 13 chains of drain on No 1 Line for £3. No resolution passed. From Messrs Liddell, Thompson, Hodder, and Thynne, asking the Board to fulfil a

Tho Board resolved to do § tho work as soon as funds are available. f From Thus. Robinson, stating 1 that he j would not acknowledge any payments made c by tho Board on account of work tendered 1 for by him, unle33 the receipt bora his sig- 1 nature. It appeared the letter was sent i owing to disputes between Mr Robinson ' and his partners. No action was taken in ] the matter. The following tenders were received for i drain on the mill flat: — J. Sullivan, 9s and 4s for different parts ; J. Perreau, 8a 6 J per chain ; J. Rashleigh, 7s ; T. M'Carlhy, 9s 8d ; H. Blake, 6s 6d ; M. Guerin, 7s ; J. ; Bourke, lump sum, £2 2s. The tender of H. Blake at £3 6d per chain was accepted, on condition that the work be completed in one month. The following applications were received for the appointment of Clerk and Collector : R. G. Palmer and A. Moinet. The Board resolved to appoint Mr Palmer. Upon the motion of Mr Cook, it "was resolved to call for tenders for about six chains of draining and formation of road ou tha Avenue, to extend to the boundary of the Foxtou Local Board. The Board then adjourned until June 30, at 3 o'clock p.m.
