May 31 — Stormbird, ss, 69 tons, Doile, from Wellington. Passengers— Mrs Grant and 2 children, Messrs Carter, Hughes, and Smith. Lidiie) l , agent SAILED. May 31 — Stormbird, ss, 69 tons, Doile, for Wellington. Passengers — Messrs Wrigley and Ralph. Llddell, agent. . Way 31 — Huia, ss, 90 tons, Wills, for Wellington. Passengers — Mrs Waters and 3 others. Thynne, Linton & Co., agents. The steamer Huia arrived in port at 8.30 on Friday afternoon, having ltd: c Wellington at 7 thfe previous evening. She sailed again for Wellington at -3 p.m. on Saturday. On the passage up the engineer of the steamer met with a painful accident, an aocouub of which appears in another column.
The s.s. Stormbkd left Wellington on Friday afternoon, and reached Foxton at a quarter to 7 next morning. She returned to that port shortly after 3 same day.
