This was expected, owing to the better telegraphic information from England, as regards the improved state of the wool market. Pigs were at lower values, the class offered being not quito those required for the trade $ no really good porkers came forward, chiefly stores and large bacon pigs. Horses were in large numbers. Draught animals of good stamp met a ready aale whilst weeds and sorews were neglected, and difficult to sell. The quotations aro as follows : — Cattle.— l 24 head were yiirded. Fat bullocks £9 12s Mto £11 ; cows, £6 7s 9d to £8 12s 6d ; milch cows, £6 10s to £7 10s; steers, £4 to £1 10s ; calves, £2. Sheep.— 7oo came forward ; fat wethers, 8s 9d ; fat ewes, 6s to 9s ; store sheep, 4s 6dto4s9d. Pigs.— Stores, 8s 3d to 445 ; bacon pigs, £2 10s. * 6 ' Horses.— Beat draught, £29 to £35; mediums. £24 10s ; good hacks, £12 10s to £13; screws and weeds, £2 to £6.
