FOXTON LOCAL BOARD.
« FitiDAY, April 2(5. An adjourued meeting of the Board was held at 3 p.m. Present— 'lessrs Crowther (Chairman), Cook, Loudon, and Eastern. The Chairman explained tho busine93 of the meeting to bo to provide a clerk temporarily for the Board, owing to Mr Robinson having absolutely declined to act any further. After some discussion, Mr Loudon proposed, " That Mr R. Or. Palmer ba appoiuted Clerk to the Local Board, pro. tern., at a salary of 20s a-week, in place of Mr W. GL Uobiuson, resigned, and that the latter deliver up to the Board all books, ,-apora, &c, t> the satijf action of the said Board." Seconded by Mr Cook, and carried. The Chairman \\\u appointed Treasurer pro. tarn. It was further proposed by Mr L mdon, " That the Chairman and Mr Oook be a committee to make arrangements for an office for the Local Board, and report to the next meeting of the Board." Seconded by Mr Easton, and carried. One or two applications for works having been made verbally through the Chairman, the Board Jjcliuedto deal with any applications which did did not come before it in writing. The next meeting of the Board will be on Thursday.
