WESLEYAN CHURCH, SANDON.

The anniversary of the above Church was held on Friday last (Good Friday), and opportunity was also taken t^ welcome the Rev. W. B Marten, who has recently arrived at Sanson to take charge of the Manawatu Circuit. A tea meeting toot place at 4 p.m., the tables being provided by the ladies of the congregation, and the bachelors also contris buting. After the tea, which was well attended, a meeting took place in the Church. Mr Gower occupied the chair, and delivered an address upon the " Capital of the Church." The annual report was read by Mr Sansoa, and showed a debt of £200, which sum it was expected would be reduced by the proceeds of the tea meeting to about £175. A gentleman present had guaranteed to collect that amount during the year, and a clean balancers heet was therefore expected next anniversary It was reported that the ladios of the congregation are at pre.sent working to raise money required; to refurnish the Parsonage. Addresses upon appropriate subjects were delivered' by itovd. d. liii \ry and W. li. Marten, and by Mr. Tompkins. Vptes of thanks were proposed to the ladies by Mr. Jas. A'Courfc, seconded by Mr. A. M'riardie ;to the choir, by Mr. J. liowater, Mr. J . Sanson responding ; to the Chairman, by Rev. Mr. Marten. The choir, under the leadership of Mr J. iSanson, rendered in an excellent manner several pieces of sacred music during the evening, Miss Wrigley ably presiding at the
