FOXTON LOCAL BOARD.

Tuesday, April 8. The Board met at 3 p.m. PresentMessrs Orowther (Chairman), Loudon, Uook, and Eastern. The following tenders were opened : — For forming footpath from Awahou Bridge to • Burr's corner, east side, Robinson and party £47 Is, accepted ; George Cook, £92, rejected. For forming footpath on west side, Kobinson and party, £58 11s, accepted; George Cook, £115, rejected. For clearing and deepening Awahou drain from mouth to junction with Avenue bridge, lls per chain, Robinson and party, only tender, accepted. For deepening Avenue drain from bridge to section 317, 13s per chain, Uobinson and party, only tender, accepted. The Engineer was empowered to employ a man for three months, to do all necessary work for the Board. The Clerk was instructed to issue summonses against all parties' whose rates are in arrears. "■ Regarding the street lamps, about which some conversation took : place at the previous meeting between Mr Rotheram and the Board, a letter from Mr. Passmore, dated September 13, 1876, was produced, in which he accepted the offer of the Board "to pay the sum of £2 per annum for each lamp erected on the street." The Cierk was requested to forward a copy of the letter to Mr. Rotheram. The Board then adjourned to the 22nd April, at 3 p.m.
