The b.b. Jaae Douglas left Wellinetoc at 5 p.m. on Thursday, experienecd fine weather, and arrived off bar at 4.' 30 a.m. on Friday ; was too h o for tide, and laid-to till noon, when she crossed bar and arrived Foxton at 12.45. The Douglas returned to Wellington at 2. p.m. on Saturday, taka large number of passengers and a cargo of wool, &o. The s.s. Go-ahead, Captain Dicker, left Wellington at 10.40 p.m. on Thursday, nnd arrived off the bar at 9 o'clock following morning; crossed bar at 12.15 j and reached wharf at 1 o'clock same day. The Go-a--head sailed again for Wanganui at 1 o'clock on Saturday. The steamer Jane Douglas should arrive from Wellington this morning. The agent informs ns that she will not go to Kangitikei this trip. . The Go-ahead was to have loaded timber on this trip for Timaru, but owing to the enquiry into the collision between her and the Huia being adjourned to this day, she has had to return to Wellington, making a trip to Wanganui. The Go-ahead will raturn about Thursday, when she will take in a load of timber for Timaru, bringing a return cargo of flour to Wellington. It is probablo that sifter that trip is concluded, she may load at Oamaru with flour and other produce for Foxton and Wanganui. A nautical inrnuiy was held on Thursday, at Wellington before T. A. Mansford, Esq.,R M. nnd Captains Fraser and Roberts, Nautical Assessors, relative to the collision between the steamers Go-ahead- and Huia, which took place on the 2hil iast, off Terawhiti. Mr Bell appeared oa behalf of ■. CaptairiDicker, and Mr Quick for CaptaiD ?' Holmes. Captains Dicker and Holmes, and the second officer of the Go-ahead, ware examined, and the enquiry was then adjourned to Tuesday (this day). A num. ,- 4 of witnesses have yet to bo examined on * both sides.
