Wangaeui, January 15. 1 have held two sales since my laßt report, the yards afc -each salo being pretty well -filled. Cattle still maintain their prices, with the exception of beef, which is s.ijitly lower in value. Sheep are off 3ring freo ly, and prices havo receded, stores being lower than at thp corresponding time last year, mutton heing at boiling down rates. The rams to-day sold at lower prices considering the quality. Mr Peat's wero a first cLiss lot, aud should have have made better values ; the prices obtained for them do not give muoh encouragement to the breeders. '1 he low price of wool,Jand general depression in fheep may in some measure account for the lo*v rates obtained for sheep of this cIaES. ■ Cattle. —At Waverley UO head were yarded Prices ranged from £3 los to £6. At Sfc Hill street to-day seventy head were sold. Fat bullocks, £8 15s to £10 10s ; three»year old steers, £7 7s 6d ; cow 9 aud calves, £6 2s6d. Sheep. — At Waverley, 1,954 head were penped. Storo wethe: s7s 3d ; ewes, 6s 6d ; mixed ewes aud wethers 4s Gd 4s 9dj fat wethr-ra, 9s 3d. At Sfc Hill Street, 1,480 came to hand. Fat .wethers, 7* to 8s 6d ; ewc-s and lambs in low condition, 3s 9d;, Btoio wethers, 5s od ; good lumbs, 5s 3d. Rams. — Mr Peat's Lincolns brought from £2 10s to £3 12s 6d ; Mr Shield's pure-hreds, from £3 to £9 os. Houses.— About thirty h*-ad were offered chiefly of inferior class. Prices as at last sale's rates.
