JacKscn reportB :— The snlo to-day at the St Hill-street Sale Yards drew a large attendance of buyers and sot (lets, the stock offered bring very attractive, beitij? an imported lot from Lyttelton. The lidding for the best heifers wa« very koei., and capital piices were obtained. Beof was of good quulity, but the. lidding wus Black, priceß receding from luto rates. Sbeep wore in limited supply, a •O'-mber that wero entered not coming forward. Prices ii ro not aettled, the biddjpg bting dull even for Mra Huir's rams net with a capital market. The lot wereqnitted at good piices, the competition being koe-n aud encour-igiug. Horses wer.i on the whole fairly competed for at |>rices that remain at last sale's quotations. Cattle. — 135 head were penned. Fat' > bullocks, £10 to £11; store steers, £7; mixed steers and heifery, £4 17s 7d. Ten bulls were sold at prices ranging from £63 to 4350.' J-jevm.l -wll-bred heifers were sold at prices, ranging from £29. Sheep. — 871 were. sold. Fut wethers, 9s 6d to -Jta I'd: lambs, 4s 6d ; eld ewes, oa. A*fir« Hair's rains ave*rujred £3 3s. Horses.— draught, £34 to £35 j good hae-ks, £25. Ordinary, £8 to £ 1 2.
