THE attention of Butchers and others is drawn to clause 22 of the Slaughterhouses Act, 1877 :— 22. — " If an y parson, without being duly licensed, shall keep a slaughterhouse, or place for slaughtering cattle, intended for sale, or barter, or for shipping, and not being an abattoir lawfully erected, or provided, or a slaughterhouse licensed by the Council of any corpo* rate district, or if any per. son shall slaughter, or cause to be slaughtered, contrary to the provisious of this Act, any cattle, in any house or place, not being an abattoir, and not being a slaughterhouse duly licensed under this Act, such person shall forfeit and pay a Bum not exceed* j ing ten pounds' for each and every head of cattle so slaughtered. * Licenses for slaughtering cattle can be had from County Council Clerk after due notice.
