NOISY MEETING.

+ Fox ton is not the only place where meetings are disorderly, as the foX lowing extract from a report of one recsntly held in Wellington will show : - A scene of disorder here ensued. Mr Colello, the propose* of the vote of confidence, striking out a brilliaut and original idea, expressed a desire to question a Mr Tolley, who had unfortunately disclosed the fact that he was a supporter of Mr Dran3field. The chairman apparently considered it somewhat iv the light of an innovation, bufc Mr Colello was allowed to put his question, which was, whether Mr Tolley was not a canvassorfor Mr Drausiield, and whether he had not received £10 in advance from that gentleman ? Mr Tolloy at once replied that he had not received anything from Mr Dransfield, and did not intend to accept anything for his services. 'J hereupon Mr Colello delicatelyjand politely propounded the further inquiry whether Mr Tolley " was sure that he was not making a liar of himself? ' Mr Tolley very naturally rose to prote3t against tbia imputation, but was at once sternly called to order b}' the chairman, and told not to " disturb the meeting." The '• meeting" also expressed their sense of the impropriety of Mr Tolloy's conduct by raising loud cries of " £>it down," " Turn him out," &c. Amid a din which made his remarks inaudible, the unfortunate man, however, expressed his indignation at his voracity having been impeached, winding up by expressing the opinion that a pint of boer would buy Uoleilo ovor any day.
